Happy Birthday Skirt

Today is my birthday. I'm doing something I've never done before, spending it alone. I took the day off as it is against my religion to work on the day of my birth... at least it has been for the past 5 years. I'm not sure which skirt I'll wear today... Maybe Skirt 32?
Hmmm. I do really love that skirt. The last time I wore it was October 25, last year. So much has changed in two and a half months. Sorry, I don't mean to sound so melancholy. It's just that the sun isn't shining today, but at least it will be 70 degree weather.

I think that today calls for a new skirt. It was a gift last Christmas from Pam.
Today's skirt is just like Skirt 72, except that it's white. It's sweet like me, and kind of reminds me of a birthday cake.

My gift to myself was a whale watching tour and all inclusive trip to Las Caletas.

The humpbacks have migrated to Banderas Bay to have their babies and enjoy the warmer waters. We didn't get too close, but we learned how to spot them. First you look for the spray, and then you will see the fins of the mothers and the babies, AND if you're lucky...

you'll see a tail.

It was magical and I saw about 7 that morning and 2 more on the way back. They are amazing creatures, reminding me that we are all a part of this cycle of life. I hope I see more while I am here, but at least I can cross some items off of my list.

Other animal encounters that I had today at Las Caletas:

Who? An owl.

That's my arm that he's sitting on.

Is that a monkey on my back?

Mariachis!

Just kidding. These guys sang Las MaƱanitas to me, the traditional Mexican birthday song.

This was my view as I ate my birthday coconut flan. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I love these floating docks... Wish you were here...

After my birthday massage I was able to enjoy the rays and soak up some vitamin D.

The spectacular view from the boat.

Back at the dock with the other big boats.

I made it to another year, but this was a fabulous day that finished with a great yoga class, and a fantastic night's sleep. I am truly blessed.
