Hooray for Herbs!
Check out my Sweet Skirt by the Sweet Basil...
On the way home from class last night, I thought I'd try a night time Skirt Shot in the car... It didn't really work out for a skirt shot, but I thought they were interesting none the less.
I went shopping in Chicago. I did good though. I bought this hot pink linen skirt for only $9.90, and I have not been able to stop wearing it all weekend. It's such a bright, cheery, easy, breezy number.
I ♥ H&M!

The "New" Interview Skirt
Adventures in Chicago:
Waiting to catch the L
At Challenger School in Chicago, where original Keith Harrings grace the walls.
Skirt 16 is the "new" interview skirt.
For my brother...
at the Lego store... where there is a whole Star Wars section.
deep dish pizza
Eon building
Walking towards Wrigley
At the MCA
Hello Big John
Inside the Millennium Park stage...
I'm ready for my close-up!
The million dollar bean.
How y'all buffin' Chicago?
Puppet Shows on a bike... I love this town.
After today, walking up the Magnificent Mile in my plastic Payless shoes, my dogs are barking! It was so worth it!

Car shots are weird...
I'm not used to them anymore.
Time for some TexMex with the girls at Mi Cocina.
Mmmmmmmmm! It was so good, not like food in Vallarta though... (I could go for a shrimp burrito right about now.) Note to self: I should have dressed better... you never know where the day will take you. At least I was comfortable.
"If you want to start a new life, plant something." I read that somewhere, and Gardens in West Villaga is the perfect store to get started. It's filled with amazing flowers and gifts to make you smile and feel good... just what a garden store should do.
I started my jewelry class tonight...
It's nice to be home.
I've been catching up on all of the movies and documentaries that I missed while I was in Mexico. Last night I watched I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, a documentary film about the creating and distribution of Wilco's album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
Before watching this film I didn't realize how talented front man Jeff Tweedy is. His lyrics are poetry, the music - sublime. I'm wearing Skirt 36, a "Tweedy" number, to celebrate the creativity and music that supplies the soundtrack to my life.

Pool of Pollution
At the lake with Moxie:
The City of Dallas has been working hard to improve the public conditions at White Rock Lake. For example: creating a solid, paved trail for pedestrian and bike traffic, which is really nice and air-y to walk on. However, the view is less than. The garbage, waste, and cesspool that sits next to this divine path is disgusting. There are so many plastic bottles, shoes, purses, and personal garbage from many picnics and lives that come to share the lake. I couldn't believe the mess!
This is horrible; a true crime with a simple solution: don't use so much stuff, recycle and put the garbage in the trashcan. How can this spot be preserved for future generations to enjoy nature and wildlife if we are destroying it in the process?
(Check out Moxie's favorite find on our walk...)
"Who?"
You. Me. Everyone.
Where is all this garbage going to go?
If you have 20 minutes, learn more. Check out this educational cartoon: Story of Stuff.
Today's skirt doesn't have a number... That system is all messed up, but I bought this skirt in Mexico last month. I'm really happy to be back home, but I miss some things, and that's why I chose today's skirt. That, and it has flowers which made me think of the Cathy comic that my bro sent me.
In the car, on my daily errand to the Goodwill drop off center.
I've got to get rid of all this stuff...

Skirt 34
Still practicing the car shot... it will get there...
At the LIBRARY:
No more buying books for me!
In Big D, I feel a little out of my element here, I guess it's to be expected... maybe there's a book out there about re-acclimating? Maybe I need to write one.
It's a little bit chillier than I'm used to, but I'm not complaining. Time to TCB, I've got a lot to do, options to explore. I'm singing Led Zeppelin this morning:
Aint nothing I can do, no.
Ramble on,
And nows the time, the time is now...

Blue Skirt for Blue Bonnets
What goes best with a blue bonnets?
A blue skirt of course! (Skirt 33)
Woo hoo! It's Late Night at the Dallas Museum of Art!
I'm going later this evening to view the new Julian Onderdonk exhibition, Bluebonnets and Beyond: Julian Onderdonk, American Impressionist.
Car shot:
I need more practice.
I also need to work this skirt out some more... It could be all of the fabric, but I feel like a bloated blueberry in it.

Gee but it's great to be back home....
Home is where I want to be!
Thank you Paul Simon, I couldn't have said it better myself...
After doing piles of laundry and sorting stuff, Skirt 25 and I ventured out for some lunch.
There are so many tastes that I have been missing, and today I indulged.
Parking lots, my car (second on the left) and a ginger beer on a beautiful day!
A perfect al fresco lunch in Dallas.

Final Day Skirt
It rained last night and this morning. Odd weather here in Vallarta this time of year. It made for a beautiful walk along the water to Daiquiri Dicks, my favorite place for brunch.
The whales put on a fantastic show for me while I ate. Jumping, breeching, waving their fins, flipping their tails, spouting water for all to see. Such beauty brought great joy; it brought tears to my eyes. Sitting alone watching the whales and the water, I got it. I was led to this wonderful place for a reason: to find happiness and contentness within my self; as Katie said, to fill my own heart.
After a little afternoon shopping, I went to school to take care of some last minute business.
Good-bye classroom
Good-bye American School
It's my last day in Vallarta. I still have to pack and get some school work done. Not how I wanted to spend my last day, but I have to TCB. I got some great beach time in yesterday in Sayulita. I dunked myself in the water several times, like a good Baptist girl.
Still hot for teacher?
