new skirt

Sometimes life requires a new skirt. Today's skirt is from Target by Isaac Mizrahi. I bought it to replace Skirt 33 from the original 60. That blue skirt that makes me feel like a huge blueberry. This skirt is made of the same fabric, but is a straight pencil silhouette. I like it...

Sussy Skirt

A "sussy" is a gift... a little something and this sussy is from Pam. It's a great skirt that reminds me of Mexico because of it's bright colors. I've worn it again and again all weekend and Monday... I think it's ready to be washed now... anyway.

Mmmmmmmm... Canton First Monday Trade Days.

First Monday Trade Days is the largest open air flea market and trade show that takes place in Canton, a small town about 60 miles east of Dallas. Originating in the 1850s, it is the oldest flea market still in operation in the United States.

I met Door Knob Bob, ate some fair food: corney dogs & fresh squeezed lemonade,
and bought some radioactive Fiesta ware.

Skirt 20's Projects

I've been busy in Skirt 20 for the past two days.
Here are the projects I've been working on...

Bathroom Project...

peeling, plastering, priming, texturing & painting the bathroom walls. (I've done the peeling and the plastering. That means I've done 40% of the work!)

Garden Project...

Planted some herbs, started a compost pile & a garden. Yay!

"I get by with a little help from my friends..."

That's just the beginning folks, I've got some other projects up my sleeve... or should I say up my skirt???
Nah, that just doesn't sound right. Stay tuned...

Skirt 20

I have a project to attend to in Skirt 20, or 24 hour Skirt as I affectionately call it. It has navy blue paint on it and is torn up the back. I shouldn't have saved it, but I knew that I would need a good skirt to TCB in. I may add more wear and tear to it today, but that's ok, because I could live in this skirt... still.

At the mother ship of used books, doing some research...

I heart Half Price Books.

Skirt 24

Here I am in Skirt 24, still trying to figure it all out...

Where will I go?

What will I do?

I am here, that's all I can be and do at any given moment...

New Black Skirt

I've been clearing and cleaning out my closet since I've been back home; making daily runs to GoodWill. I guess I'm clearning out my closet?

Anyway, I found a skirt that I didn't even realize I had! It's a black pleated number, sort of like Skirt 27.

Here it is again:

Doh! It's actually a dress...

my lame attempt for April Fool's, Skirt Project style.

Hot Pink Skirt

Hooray for Herbs!

Check out my Sweet Skirt by the Sweet Basil...

On the way home from class last night, I thought I'd try a night time Skirt Shot in the car... It didn't really work out for a skirt shot, but I thought they were interesting none the less.

I went shopping in Chicago. I did good though. I bought this hot pink linen skirt for only $9.90, and I have not been able to stop wearing it all weekend. It's such a bright, cheery, easy, breezy number.

I ♥ H&M!

Windy City Wooly Skirt

I'm wearing my simple black wool pencil skirt in an effort to pack conservatively. I'm off to the windy city today. It's supposed to snow.

Jeff TWEEDY Skirt

Car shots are weird...

I'm not used to them anymore.

Time for some TexMex with the girls at Mi Cocina.

Mmmmmmmmm! It was so good, not like food in Vallarta though... (I could go for a shrimp burrito right about now.) Note to self: I should have dressed better... you never know where the day will take you. At least I was comfortable.

"If you want to start a new life, plant something." I read that somewhere, and Gardens in West Villaga is the perfect store to get started. It's filled with amazing flowers and gifts to make you smile and feel good... just what a garden store should do.

I started my jewelry class tonight...

It's nice to be home.

I've been catching up on all of the movies and documentaries that I missed while I was in Mexico. Last night I watched I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, a documentary film about the creating and distribution of Wilco's album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

Before watching this film I didn't realize how talented front man Jeff Tweedy is. His lyrics are poetry, the music - sublime. I'm wearing Skirt 36, a "Tweedy" number, to celebrate the creativity and music that supplies the soundtrack to my life.
